The brief was deceptively simple: a 280m² penthouse in central Milan, recently stripped back to its shell, waiting to become something exceptional.
The client - a Milanese entrepreneur - had one clear instruction: it must feel Italian, but not obviously so. No Baroque. No pastiche. Just the quiet confidence of great design.
We began with the floor plan. The space had generous ceiling heights (3.4m throughout) and a south-facing terrace that we wanted to connect visually to the living room. The structural solution was to open the wall entirely and use a custom sliding glass system by Lualdi.
For furniture, we built the brief around four factories: Poliform for the kitchen and master wardrobe system; Molteni&C for the dining table and master bedroom; Minotti for the living room sofas and occasional tables; Flos for all lighting.
The result took eight months from first concept to final delivery. The client's feedback at handover was simply: 'It feels like it was always here.'
